Stay Close and Practice

Well, we have another sweet baby on the way.  My family and I are so excited and we can’t wait to begin again.  I’d say we’re lucky, having another so close to the first.  Knowing what to do isn’t far from our minds, since we just went through it all, over the last year or so.  I’d say I’ve grown a lot through the process and I’m thankful that I won’t have to re-learn most of what I picked up along the way.

15 Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress. —1 Timothy 4

There is a fine line between pride and humility, but the Christian life should be visible.  If for any reason whatsoever then for others to see Christ through Christ-like-ness.  People should see our good deeds done in the name of Jesus.  They need know what it is like not only to be like Christ but what it is like to be faithful.  Therefore we need to practice our lifestyle so that it is never far from us.  Our Christian character ought to be second nature…or rather become our first and true nature.

When you enter into a period of revival or refreshment within your soul, follow it up quickly and with excitement.  Of course I am not suggesting you keep an emotional-high going from an experience, but I am saying that when the Spirit of God moves then hop aboard.  Let what you’ve learned become a constant companion, always guiding you as you live.  Remember, you have the Holy Spirit with you, always ready to give you both comfort and guidance.  But God will not live your life for you.  You must take care of the spiritual child called “faith” through attending to the grace given you.  Stay close and practice.
