Jesus stood before the chief priests and took every foul word, every ounce of hate, every lie and threat.  And he did it in silence.  Then, he was put through everything the Romans could throw at him, and that wasn’t pretty—lashings, beatings, mockings, the long walk to the hill where he would be crucified, and then crucifixion itself.  After all that you would think that was enough.  But it wasn’t. Now, it was death’s turn.  The greatest enemy of them all.  The unbeatable foe, the unstoppable force.  It was a long, quiet Saturday and despair was the headline for believers in Jesus.  And then…Sunday came.

I took this photo in Nebraska on a hunting trip. The “big sky” out there is something everyone should see. It’s amazing and can make anyone get up to catch the sunrise, morning after morning.

It’s a whole new world.  The story of Lazarus has become a reality for all of us.  Because Jesus rose from the dead, we now will rise with him.  If you are in Jesus, then you’re in his resurrection, too.  This morning, are you in?  I’ll be singing this in my heart ALL day tomorrow and I hope you can, too…

Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives
